it's cold, and many owners come to consult about the decoration in winter. The traditional concept believes that it is not easy to decorate in winter because of many inconveniences, such as dry climate, poor ventilation and heavy dust. These troubles caused by special seasons make people afraid that the decoration in winter will affect the construction quality. Is it appropriate to decorate in winter? What are the necessary precautions? How should we decorate? Professional home decoration companies will consider these problems for you in advance and ensure the construction quality from ten details

first, regular ventilation can ensure the rapid release of toxic gases

1. After decoration in winter, it is necessary to continuously ventilate for at least seven days. After a large number of furniture, carpets and fabrics are placed in the room, they should be left vacant for a few days and then checked in after ventilation, so as to avoid the centralized volatilization of a large number of harmful substances and polluting the environment. All furniture should be opened and left vacant for a few days before hanging clothes

2. The ventilation method of opening large windows on the south side and small windows on the north side should be adopted for the ventilation of the room. The indoor temperature and ventilation volume should be reasonably controlled, and strong ventilation should not be adopted

3. The kitchen and bathroom exhaust fans and kitchen smoking machines can be properly turned on to enhance the indoor ventilation

4. Use air humidifier to humidify the indoor air, or place clear water containers on the indoor heating to humidify and keep the indoor air moist

5. Try to use detergent with surfactant as the main component to wipe and clean the traces of interior decoration, and do not use highly volatile solvents such as gasoline, alcohol, etc

6. The wooden floor should be waxed once a week or every two weeks. It should not be waxed frequently. It can be dragged and wiped with a wet soft cloth every day

7. Green plants should be properly placed indoors

II. Avoid cracking and deformation of wood

1. Stack wood and plates 800mm away from the heat source to avoid cracking and deformation of wood and plates due to overheating

2. In the room with geothermal heating, when stacking wood and various artificial plates, add a wooden pad at the bottom of the plate to avoid cracking and deformation of wood

3. Every two decorative panels are a pair, stacked face-to-face, layer by layer, and loaded with pressure on the upper surface with a large core board to ensure that the decorative panels do not curl, deform or crack

4. Water based coatings and adhesives should be stored in the room with high temperature, and should not be placed on the balcony or in the room facing north to prevent freezing damage

5. Paint and volatile chemicals should be stored separately, away from heat sources, and the room should be continuously ventilated

6. Use van to transport construction materials, water-based coatings and adhesives, and use thermal insulation materials to avoid freezing

7. The three and five centimeter plates of the decorative panel shall not be placed on the top layer of the loading and stowage to avoid deformation and cracking during transportation

8. Water based materials should be inspected after being delivered to the site. Once they are found to be deteriorated or denatured, they should be returned to the warehouse in time and prohibited from use

III. the room temperature cannot be lower than 5 ℃

the room temperature is lower than 5 ℃, so winter construction cannot be carried out. In winter, the temperature is low, and if the plastering, puttying, tiling and other working surfaces are frozen, there will be quality problems such as hollowing. For the room without heating, when the temperature cannot meet the requirements, the construction shall be suspended or the heating equipment shall be increased to increase the indoor temperature

IV. strictly prevent fire on site

when decorating in winter, some houses do not have heating indoors, and some decorators will use open fire to warm indoors, which is very dangerous, and it is very easy to cause hypoxia, poisoning and even fire

in addition, attention should also be paid to when there is too much dust. In dry areas, dust (powdered combustible solid) may cause explosion when encountering open fire when reaching a certain concentration. In addition, because the newly purchased materials generally have strong volatile smell, they are easy to be poisoned without opening the window

special tips: in winter decoration, it is best to give workers enough warm clothes or bedding. If possible, workers are advised not to spend the night in the construction site without heating or with low room temperature

v. the wood can be reused after 3 days indoors

the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is large in winter. Whether wall tiles or floor tiles, they must be paved when they adapt to the indoor temperature, so as to avoid hollowing and falling off after construction. In addition, the paving of wood floors should also be paid special attention. If the indoor temperature is relatively high, the paving gap between wood floors should be as small as possible. On the contrary, if the indoor temperature is relatively low, the gap between plates can be larger

it is best to place the wood in the room with heating equipment for 3 to 5 days to volatilize the moisture produced due to temperature changes, so that the moisture content of the wood is close to the level of the house. Some auxiliary materials, such as wood keel, woodwork, gypsum board, etc., are prone to mildew and crack and deform after being affected by moisture. Such a situation should be avoided as much as possible

VI. there should be no ice in the sand

the low temperature in winter will have a great impact on the solidification of concrete and cement mortar and the strength after solidification, which will lead to the reduction of project quality. Maintaining the indoor temperature is the key to this process. However, the decoration works of ordinary families rarely involve civil engineering, so this problem is not very common. The sand should be carefully sieved without ice. Antifreeze should be added appropriately. When mixing mortar, the temperature of water should not exceed 80 ℃, which should be adjusted frequently as needed. The curing time of bricklayer construction should be extended from 48 to 72 hours

after the slotting construction of water and electricity lines, the cement mortar used to fill the grooves should use pneumatic (dry) mortar, and the batch scraping wall works or other processes should not be carried out until 48 hours after filling (room temperature above 5 ℃)

VII. Use antifreeze with caution

use antifreeze with caution. There is also a problem of using antifreeze in winter construction. The use of antifreeze in building decoration can make the concrete harden under negative temperature and achieve sufficient antifreeze strength within the specified time. However, nitrite, the main component of antifreeze, will be poisoned if it is ingested too much at one time. Therefore, in winter decoration, we should try to use other methods to solve the problem of antifreeze

VIII. How to deal with the strong cold air

although it is a warm winter, it just means that the overall average temperature in winter is higher than that of the year round, which does not mean that there will be no strong cooling weather. Therefore, special attention should be paid to coating construction at low temperature and opening windows for ventilation after snow melting. The application temperature shall be higher than 5 ° C. As the ambient temperature of coating should not be lower than 5 ° C, doors and windows should be closed first in winter decoration construction to ensure that the indoor temperature is not lower than 5 ° C at least. On the one hand, this can ensure the indoor temperature, on the other hand, it can also prevent the outdoor wind and sand from blowing on the wet furniture and walls, resulting in roughness and unevenness. When rain and snow fall in warm winter, because the temperature of surrounding buildings (especially the ground) is high, the snowflakes melt immediately when they reach the ground, and it is not easy to form snow. In such an environment, when opening windows for ventilation, you should wait until the paint is fully dry, then open the doors and windows for ventilation, and pay attention to grasp the time

IX. don't scrape the putty too thick

because the indoor air is dry and the water loss is fast, the putty before oiling cannot be scraped too thick, otherwise it is easy to cause hollowing, cracking and wall inequality

indoor cement mortar plastering, tiling and other processes, close to the heating, should prevent the local high temperature from causing the mortar to dry too fast to form cracks, tile peeling and other phenomena
